Why apply to Rimi Baltic Sustainability Awards?

Our goal with the awards is to seek and celebrate the most successful Baltic achievements in sustainability innovation. Our mission with this initiative is to bring enterprise, organization, and society attention to the potential that innovation has in achieving our individual and common sustainability goals. This ultimately means choosing investments in sustainability innovation over marketing, as marketing activities result in greenwashing that is a road to avoid. However, what is the goal for you to apply? To help you answer this question, below, we have compiled potential motivation drivers for each applicant category. Take a look, see if our missions match and if yes - apply by Nov 5!


For enterprises

Large enterprises and SMEs are invited to apply in two categories - Impact and Innovation. The Impact category even has subcategories for 1)Large enterprises and 2)SMEs, while the Innovation category has a subcategory for 1)Enterprises. The other subcategories in Impact and Innovation are 3)Public sector & NGOs and 2) Startups accordingly.


Showcase your sustainability achievements to a wide Baltic audience;

Be recognized as one of the sustainability innovation leaders in your industry;

Be featured in the first Baltic Sustainability Report that will present all the winners as well as Baltic market trends and insights into sustainability innovation. To be published at the end of January 2022; Inspire others to learn from your achievements;

Do your part at fighting Greenwashing; Take the main stage at the Future Forum conference. The Awards ceremony will take place at the end of the Future Forum conference and all finalists will be invited on the stage to share their success story and achievements.

For startups

Startups are invited to apply to the Innovation category where they qualify for subcategory 2) Startups. Plain and simple.


Be recognized as one of the top GreenTech startups in the Baltic region; Showcase your sustainability solutions to potential clients, investors, and general audience;

Gain international investor and media exposure as the awards ceremony will welcome investors and media representatives from all over Europe; Be featured in the first Baltic Sustainability Report that will present all the winners as well as Baltic market trends and insights into sustainability innovation. To be published at the end of January 2022; Get tickets to TechChill 2022 and be fast-tracked to the Fifty Founder Battle. TechChill is the leading tech and startup event in the Baltics and this is your chance to take part in the February 2022 event and compete for the main prize of 10 000 eur.


For NGOs, the public sector, and individuals

NGOs and the public sector institutions have a special subcategory just for them in the Impact category (3) NGOs & Public sector), while individuals have a whole category just for them - Changemakers.


Share your mission and crucial work that you do with a wide Baltic audience and raise awareness;

Be recognized as one of the Baltic sustainability leaders and inspire others to follow your example;

Be featured at the first Baltic Sustainability Report that will present all the winners as well as Baltic market trends and insights into sustainability innovation. To be published at the end of January 2022.

Rimi Baltic Sustainability Awards are organized by innovation management company Helve with the support of the general partner Rimi Baltic, methodology partner Plan A as well as partners e-solutions company Dokobit and Citadele bank. The application process takes place until Nov5, finalists will be announced on Nov 25 while the winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Dec 9.
